Overwatch Moira Fade Buff Reversed Following Backlash
Blizzard Entertainment has reversed a controversial change to Moira’s fade ability in Overwatch that sparked intense criticism from players when it went live in the game’s public test realm.
Moira, who is already considered a tough character to kill, was granted the ability to fade even while stunned, making it harder to target her.
“Moira has always been good at healing and dealing damage, but she offers very little utility compared to the other healers,” Blizzard said of the buff. “This change reinforces her evasive nature and allows her potentially save her team from area stuns such as Reinhardt’s Earthshatter.”
Players immediately flocked to social media with videos demonstrating how the change tilted matches, such as the one below posted by professional player, Nikola Andrews:

Such was the reaction that Blizzard released a new PTR update yesterday, as part of which the buff has been reversed, making Moira’s fade unusable while she’s stunned. The developer didn’t make any additional comments but rest assured, the change won’t be seeing the light of day.
HERO UPDATES
Moira
Fade no longer usable while stunned.
Sigma
Kinetic Grasp cooldown reduced from 15 to 13 seconds

The current PTR update is testing Overwatch‘s newest hero, Sigma, who is described as an “eccentric astrophysicist.” We’ll update our readers when the character becomes available for consoles.
