All PS5 Games Confirmed or Rumored – Guide

What PS5 games have been announced? What PS5 games have been rumored? In this guide, we’re going to list every PS5 game that’s been confirmed or rumored ahead of the console’s release, which is due in 2020. This list is based on at least partial confirmation from publishers or developers, rumors that have weight, and educated guesswork. We’ll, of course, be updating this article over time as more information becomes available, so be sure to check back regularly.

Publisher: Bandai Namco / Developer: CD Projekt Red

Release Date: TBA

Status: Dated for PS4, but given scope of the game, an additional PS5 release seems likely

Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5)

CD Projekt Red’s next role-playing experience has already wowed with a couple of lengthy gameplay demos, and expectations are sky high after The Witcher 3. The Polish developer has stated numerous times that Cyberpunk 2077 is bound for the PS4, but given that the game is set to release in April 2020, we can definitely see it getting a PS5 edition once Sony’s next-gen machine arrives. Besides, the sheer ambition on display suggests that Cyberpunk 2077 has already given us a glimpse of what an open world PS5 game could be.

Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment / Developer: Kojima Productions

Release Date: TBA

Status: Dated for PS4, but we can see it being re-released on PS5 given the timing

At this point we’ve seen quite a bit of Death Stranding, but it’s still a game we really need to get our hands on to properly analyze. Sony’s placed a lot of faith in iconic developer Hideo Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions, and we were somewhat surprised to see it get a 2019 release date. Still, given the game’s lengthy production cycle, it’s not too much of a jump to assume that it’ll appear on PS5 in some form. In fact, system architect Mark Cerny has alluded to this very fact in past interviews.

Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment / Developer: Bluepoint Games

Release Date: TBA

Status: Unannounced, but heavily rumored

Demon's Souls Remake (PS5)

Bluepoint Games has been rumored to be working on a remake/remaster of Demon’s Souls for what feels like an eternity, and with PS5 looming, it’s very possible this game will end up on the next-gen platform. Adding fuel to this fire, Marco Thrush recently stated the team is making a “big game” for PS5. You know it makes sense.

Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment / Developer: Media Molecule

Release Date: TBA

Status: Unannounced, but not impossible

Dreams (PS5)

With the PS5 confirmed to be backwards compatible, Media Molecule may not feel it needs to port Dreams to the next-gen console at all. However, it will surely want the creation engine to span multiple generations, and a native port to the PS5 could allow for even more imaginative potential to be unlocked. It’s guesswork, but not unrealistic.

Publisher: Techland / Developer: Techland

Release Date: TBA

Status: Announced and confirmed to be cross-gen

Dying Light 2 (PS5)

Perhaps the first example of a confirmed PS5 game, Dying Light 2 from Techland is confirmed to be a cross-generation title. The open world zombie survival game will shuffle its way onto both PS4 and PS5.
