Monster Hunter: World brings monster slayer Geralt to the game

The much-awaited Witcher crossover mission for Monster Hunter has arrived on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with the PC version set to release soon.

Geralt of Astera

Capcom had announced the Monster Hunter – Witcher crossover event in December 2018 which has now already begun from February 7th. Monster Hunter even shared this update on their official Twitter page with the following tweet:

The crossover has introduced players in the role of legendary monster slayer Geralt from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Here players have to complete various mission objectives as a part of a special assignment “Contract: Trouble in the Ancient Forest.” This special assignment tasks the Witcher to track down and deal with a powerful monster known as the Leshen which in itself may require some skill-set at hand. That being said, players who reached Hunter Rank 16 or above are only allowed to play this quest. Players who complete all the objectives will be rewarded with the White Wolf’s arsenal and abilities, including his silver sword and combat magic. This is a solo mission so players will have to complete it without any multiplayer support.

Additionally, there is a second part to the crossover which is set to be starting from February 15, 5:30 am IST. The Special Assignment “Contract: Woodland Spirit” will only be available for Hunter Rank 50 and above. In this event, multiple players will be pitted against a much deadlier form of the Leshen. This is quite an indicator that the second part will put to test the abilities of adept hunters in what’s gonna be an extremely challenging multiplayer event. Teams who complete this part of the crossover will get resources needed to craft the armour and weapon set of Ciri — another iconic character from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The crossover comes in the form of a free title update for Monster Hunter: World players on PS4 and Xbox One with a PC update coming soon. For more details on this, you can visit Capcom-Unity’s official website.
