Awesome Games Done Quick 2019: what to watch on the last day

The final 12 hours of Awesome Games Done Quick 2019 features six events, but speedrun favorites The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Mario Odyssey are among them. The AGDQ schedulers have planned a crowd-pleasing finale that wraps up at midnight. You can watch all of it live, right here.

Xelna is first in four main categories of A Link to the Past, which has the fourth-most players among games on Speedrun.com. They’re also No. 1 in three category extensions, including this one. The world record time is 1:33:57.

3:28 p.m. Dark Souls 3 (spacey1). All bosses on PC. spacey1 is fifth. The world record time for this category is 1:16:19, set by Nemz38 on Dec. 15.

6:38 p.m. Quickie World (GlitchCat 7, RBMACHOK). 100%. This is a ROMhack of Super Mario World on SNES. The runners are Nos. 1 and 2 respectively, and RBMACHOK is a former No. 1.

7:06 p.m. Super Gracie World (Wahnthac). 100%. This is also a Super Mario World ROMhack and Wahnthac is also No. 1, since September.

8:01 p.m. Super Mario Odyssey (Bayleef). Darker Side. This is the first full-event appearance at a Games Done Quick for Super Mario Odyssey. (SMO was a bonus event at Summer Games Done Quick 2018.) On Speedrun.com, it has the second-most players, third-most active players and total runs. This is a straight run through the game’s Darker Side to collect the multimoon at the end, and the world record, held by Bayleef, is 3:15:56. So settle in.

11:45 p.m. Super Metroid (ShinyZeni). Reverse Boss Order on SNES. Awesome Games Done Quick 2019 closes out with Super Metroid and ShinyZeni, who is No. 1 in this category (58:37 real time, 40:00 in-game time).
