Hero builds Nintendo Wii into an Altoids tin
A hardware modder, who goes by the handle Shank, claims to have crammed a fully functional Nintendo Wii into an Altoids tin. Called KillMii, photos show a portable device bound in a curiously strong tin can with a rough cut-out for its two-inch screen.
Why create such an abomination? For the memes, Shank said.
“This portable is not logical, comfortable, or practical,” Shank wrote in their build blog on BitBuilt. “But it must be done.”
The effort began in April 2017, only coming to fruition in the last few days. In the center of it all, Shank insists, is actual Wii hardware. They promise a video proving its legitimacy soon.

Shank said on Twitter that the device runs hot, even with the tiny fan they installed. It’s also remarkably impractical, having just about a 10-minute battery life. The buttons, such as they are, come courtesy of a Nintendo 3DS.

We’ve been crunching the numbers on the legendary Nintendo Wii console, famously derided for its lack of horsepower, and we’ve also been able to determine that an Altoids tin has a volume of roughly 7.3 inches. That means you could fit about 12 KillMiis inside of an OG Wii.
But, digging deeper, we’ve determined that you could also fit more than 40 of them inside two GameCubes duct-taped together.
