Fortnite Season 6 Battle Pass revealed

Fortnite Season 6 Battle Pass revealed

Fortnite’s brand new season is here, and that means a new Battle Pass full of cosmetic goodness is coming along with it.

This season’s Battle Pass arrives with a fresh Halloween horror theme, which doesn’t quite fit the speculation players were laying out prior to Season 6’s release on Thursday morning. Aside from the brand new theme, which is pretty different from Season 5’s historical-ish theme and Season 4’s superheroes, it appears that the Battle Pass looks pretty similar to what players are used to.

The pass offers players 100 unlockable tiers with more than 100 items. The unlocks are gained by earning battle stars which players get either through completing challenges or earning experience in the Battle Royale matches they play.

The Season 6 Battle Pass will be available in Fortnite’s in-game store for 950 V-Bucks ($9.50) and will last for the entirety of Season 6, which is set to end in about 11 weeks. If you’re less interested in paying for the Battle Pass, Epic also offers up a free version of the pass with entirely different rewards so players who don’t want to pay can still earn something. If you start with the free pass and decide you want to upgrade down the road, all the progress and unlocks you’ve gained on your free pass will also transfer to the paid version.

Both versions of the Battle Pass will also open up Fortnite’s weekly challenges; the free version will receive three challenges, and the paid version will have all seven, helping earn even more battle stars.

Epic will also allow players to unlock all 100 tiers for 150 V-Bucks a tier and will even offer a version of the pass that starts at tier 25 that will cost players 2,800 V-Bucks for the players who don’t necessarily want to go through the trouble of earning every tier of their Battle Pass.

This season’s Battle Pass will also offer players special unlockable pieces for certain skins that can only be obtained by reaching a certain level in the game. Thankfully, these unlocks aren’t time gated like the rest of the pass and can be earned at any time after buying the Battle Pass.

Fortnite’s Season 6 Battle Pass begins on Sept. 27 and will run through the end of Season 6.
