The Division 2 developer livestream shows off Dark Zone West

Here’s a look at Dark Zone West in The Division 2.

During last week’s The Division 2 information blowout, looks at Dark Zone East and Dark Zone South were all over the place. Today, we finally get a look at Dark Zone West, thanks to a Special Report hosted by Ubisoft Massive.

Dark Zone West is set in Georgetown, which is one of the oldest areas in DC.  The federal-style architecture, cobblestone streets, shops, and canals are on full display.

The alleyways in the residential area should provide plenty of opportunity to cutoff foes, and some sections are extremely tight. It’s said things will open up a bit more around Union Station – which is a quite striking building in person, I might add.

Georgetown is also where the government, in the game, released compound DZ-62 in order to combat the virus. It made things worse apparently, because the area is now a Dark Zone. The compound is denoted by a yellow haze or fog in this particular part of the map.

You can watch the entire special report on demand through Twitch, but Arekkz Gaming has a posted a quick video showing the most important bits.

Each zone supports up to 12 players per session, and to give you an idea of what each entails, all three DZs will be introduced in three separate story missions. This will allow you to explore the areas without getting killed by other players. It’s worth noting that these particular  missions must be completed before each zone unlocks the proper, PvPvE version shared with other players.

You’ll also be able to unlock Dark Zone Perks and they move up in DZ Rank. These perks can be unlocked up to DZ level 50 . Because rank can changed when losing XP, players will need to strive to keep their rank intact.

Be sure to read up on all of the changes The Division 2 is making to the Dark Zone at the link. If you need information the Rogue system that includes Theft and Greed activities, or on how to get into the private beta that runs from February 7 – 10, we have you covered there as well.

The Division 2 releases March 15 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on PC through Uplay and the Epic Games Store.
