EA is planning Command & Conquer remasters and is looking to fans for direction

During their E3 presentation this year, EA briefly had fans delighted over a new Command & Conquer game, however, the delight was short-lived after discovering that it was Command & Conquer: Rivals, a mobile game. Well, it’s not like us to completely ignore it just because it’s a mobile game. As it turns out, it was not that great.

Command & Conquer

Well, there’s some good news for Command & Conquer fans now, as EA producer Jim Vessela took to reddit to reveal that EA has plans to remaster some of the games from the popular series and they already have the “ball rolling on our first effort to celebrate the upcoming 25th Year Anniversary” as he said on Reddit. The 25th anniversary will fall in 2020 for those wondering.

Vesella mentions in his post that EA is taking to the fans to help with the future of the Command & Conquer franchise, and the purpose of his post is to gather input on which games fans want remastered. We personally loved the Red Alert arc and would love to see it remastered. One other qualm we had was EA’s recent approach to, well, everything. Microtransactions. Thankfully, Jim cleared this up with his response to another concerned redditor, stating that “We will not be adding microtransactions to a C&C Remaster.” This is EA though, so we’ll just have to hold our breath till it’s actually out, but it would be nice if this were the case.
