Bungie Plans on Making Masterwork Cores More Plentiful in Destiny 2

One of the hot topics among the Destiny community right now is the availability of Masterwork Cores. These items are necessary for infusion — the process of powering up equipment that you like using. However, Masterwork Cores are currently very hard to find or farm, meaning that infusion is a costly decision to make.

Bungie says that its goal was to make infusion a more difficult choice, which it’s certainly succeeded in doing. Before the release of Destiny 2: Forsaken, you could basically just infuse to your heart’s content, but now that infusion is expensive, you have to carefully consider whether it’s actually worth doing. In short, it makes the grind for your ideal loadout longer, but a little more varied since you’ll be trying out different weapons and armour.

But as mentioned, Masterwork Cores are a incredibly rare to the point where even diehard players are having trouble stocking up, and fortunately Bungie agrees that they need to be more plentiful. In a developer update, it writes “We have been monitoring Core supplies and the numbers aren’t as high as we’d like. We are planning to create more reliable and plentiful Core sources.” It continues: “We are going to rename Masterwork Cores so their purpose is more obvious.”
